Our teaching method
Our teaching method is based on the communicative approach and on real needs of students. Our goal is to make them confident when using Italian in real life situations, both formal and informal.
We do our best to create a calm, friendly and creative atmosphere that encourages the dialogue between different cultures and closer acquaintance and communication in a group.
The students are given every possibility to practice all the four linguistic abilities – listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Special attention is paid to the oral practice to make students improve the ability to express themselves and communicate successfully in Italian from the very start. This is why a part of the lessons is dedicated to “real life immersion” (at the supermarket, bar, information office etc.) – situations when students, with the teacher’s help, get a chance to put into practice skills and abilities acquired in class.
It goes without saying that the method does not exclude vocabulary enrichment and studying grammar rules – the backbone of the language.
The number of students in each group is not more than 10. All groups are homogeneous from the point of view of the linguistic level that is defined on the first lesson with the placement test consisting of two part – a written test and an oral presentation – from A1 as elementary to C2 as advanced, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Educational Materials

Particular attention is given to the choice of educational materials which are continually updated and broadened.
Apart from the manuals used in the language courses, there is a rich collection of media from which authentic materials are selected for use in class. Additionally, such materials can be used directly by students in our Study Centre.
There is also an excellent selection of Italian films which are presented as part of the afternoon activities programme.
