Beside language lessons the Civitas Italia offers a rich programme of afternoon and weekend activities that will make your stay in Italy unforgettable.

The town of Civitanova Marche presents a lot of opportunities for interesting pastime: beautiful beaches (awarded with the Blue Flag for the quality of water and services), modern bars and restaurants, popular discos, shops of the most famous brands, theatre and dance performances, concerts, sports events and many others. Guided tours

Live the Marche, the whole Italy in one region!

Every week the school organizes two guided tours whose price is included in the programme to the most interesting and beautiful attractions of the Marche Region*.

The tours take place in the afternoons and presuppose transfer by train or private bus and the escort of a guide.

We have chosen for you itineraries that present artistic and cultural interest, as well as those famous for the splendor of landscapes. Among them are:

• Loreto: visit to the famous Basilica of the Holy House and the art gallery where you can see the works by Lorenzo Lotto, a precious collection of the Renaissance ceramics and tapestries by Rafael. After Loreto the tour continues in Sirolo and Conero Park, famous for its beautiful beaches and rich vegetation.
• Recanati: visit to the house-museum of the notorious poet Giacomo Leopardi and the Beniamino Gigli local history museum.
• Frassassi grottos: you will pass through the fascinating and unique karsts cave system, the best-known in Central Italy.
• Civitanova Alta: the towers and monuments of the ancient town and visit to the Moretti gallery of modern art.
• Macerata: visit to the historical city centre, the city art gallery with its collections of ancient and modern art and the Carriage Museum.
• Tolentino: visit to the historical city centre, the International Museum of Caricature and the museum of St. Nicolas’ Sanctuary.
• Ascoli Piceno: visit to the historical city centre, full of monuments and architectural masterpieces among which the famous Piazza del Popolo, and the city art gallery.

• Fermo, Torre di Palme, Moresco

For those who are eager to see the most famous Italian cities of art we organize optional trips on weekends for a competitive price to Rome, Florence, Assisi and Perugia, Siena and San Gimignano, Urbino and San Marino, Gradara, Naples and Pompei, Rimini and Ravenna.

* The number of guided tours can vary from 1 to 2 per week, depending on the number of students.

Italian Culture lessons

The Italian Culture lessons in the afternoon will make you acquainted with the history and geography of Italy, its traditions, famous people and much else.

Each lesson is accompanied with the multimedia sources that facilitate the comprehension of the material even for those students whose knowledge of Italian is not so good. They also make lessons livelier and more interesting.

The Italian Culture lessons take place once or twice a week and cover the following topics:

• Cuisine of Italy and its regions, typical products of the Marche Region
• History of the Italian language
• Italian dialects
• Italian folk songs
• Italian cinema
• Italian folk dances
• History and traditions of the Marche Region

* In case the number of students in a group is less than 8 the Italian Culture lessons can be cancelled or substituted with revision lessons or other activities according to the students' needs.

Italian films

To improve your language skills and have fun the Civitas Italia invites you to view a range of Italian films. There are planned 2 to 3 viewings a week of the best-known Italian films in original with subtitles. A part of these viewings is dedicated to the festival works.

• study Centre on the premises of the school where you can study on your one, consult the educational material in peace and get acquianted with other students of the Civitas Italia
